Rosary of the Holy Spirit

Rosary of the Holy Spirit

To speak of the revelations of the Holy Spirit is to enter into the very heart of divine wisdom.
Throughout spiritual history, the Holy Spirit has revealed many truths, yet some may be considered the most transcendent and universal—essential both for personal faith and for the transformation of the world.
This Rosary is based on those revelations and helps invoke the Holy Spirit, with the desire to guide humanity by His light.
The Rosary of the Holy Spirit may be prayed with the same rosary used for praying the Rosary of the Virgin Mary—daily, or whenever our heart desires.

Begin with the Sign of the Cross:
“By the sign of the Holy Cross, deliver us, O Lord our God, from our enemies.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Pray the Apostles’ Creed.
Pray the Our Father.

Announce the First Mystery and meditate on it on Monday and Saturday

1. Receive the Holy Spirit

After rising from the dead, Jesus gives a preview of Pentecost, breathing upon them the Spirit as the breath of new life. This event took place on the very night of the Resurrection and was a significant moment in which Jesus entrusted them with their mission.
Jesus breathes the Spirit of the Risen One. Meditate on the moment when Jesus breathes the Holy Spirit.
“Receive the Holy Spirit.”
John 20:22

Prayer
On the large bead, pray the Our Father.
On the five sets of ten small beads, pray ten times:
“Come, Holy Spirit, and enter my soul. Come, Divine Light, and enrich me. Send forth Your Spirit, O Lord, and renew humanity.”
Conclude with a Hail Mary, a Glory Be, and the Sign of the Cross.

2. The Holy Spirit as the Comforter and Spirit of Truth
Jesus promises that He will not leave His disciples alone. The Holy Spirit will be His living Presence, constant companion, and faithful guide. Meditate on the Spirit of Truth, promised by Jesus to come after His Resurrection and sent by the Father.
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of Truth.”
John 14:16–17

Prayer

On the five sets of ten small beads, pray ten times:

3. The Coming of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost
Meditate on what happened on the day of Pentecost, when the promise of Jesus was fulfilled—that He would send the Holy Spirit:
“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then they saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
Acts 2:1–4

4. The Revelation of the Light of the World through the Action of the Holy Spirit
Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit in the Virgin Mary. Through that luminous essence of His being, He defined Himself as the Light of the World. He is our Light; He is the Spirit of Light.
Let us meditate on the importance of being light for the world. Let us recognize that the inner light comes from Christ, who manifests Himself in the soul through the action of the Holy Spirit.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”
John 8:12

Prayer
On the large bead, pray the Our Father.
